A Chance to Help and a Chance to Win

 

Things have been so busy here in Slam Land—and not always with yarn—which is why I've been a little quiet for the past couple of months.

 

But I'm so excited to announce a Slamvent 2026 giveaway, alongside a call for donations to support a cause that makes a meaningful difference for so many people.

 

When I was looking for an organization to support this year, my brother suggested the Community Supper in Maple Ridge, a volunteer-run program that he has seen make a real impact. It felt like the perfect fit for Slamvent, and I hope you'll join me in supporting it.

 

Every donation, big or small, will help continue their work, and you'll also be entered for a chance to win some wonderful yarny prizes. :)

 

About the Community Supper

 

The Community Supper has been serving meals for more than 20 years. The ministry began by serving sandwiches and coffee and has since grown to serve up to 150 meals every Saturday.

 

The supper is held at/supported by the Golden Ears United Church. The program itself is entirely volunteer-run and relies on donations and community support to continue.

 

For many who attend, it's about far more than a meal. It's a welcoming place to connect with others, share conversation, and access additional supports. Week after week, volunteers create a space where everyone is treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Every dollar you donate here by purchasing this listing will be sent directly to be used for the Golden Ears Community Meal.  Slam Fiber Co. will cover all fees and other costs associated with the donation. 

I will be sending a Petite Plush 2026 Slamvent to ONE person this year.  Each $10 donation gets you on the list, and one person will be chosen out of the final list of $10 donations. The lucky Slamvent-er will be announced once the donations have been tallied up.
